Why Heartbreak is Easier and Bearable Fifteen Years Ago

All i see was a swarming desperation on tweets/thoughts because apparently being single on a saturday night definitely not cool. Then i also realise that social media is 90% the cause of this dramatisation nation.
Months later i decided that i didn’t like him that much, so i stopped answering his call and told him in a letter that we are breaking up. Yes, a letter, because back then i didn’t think that 160 characters could possibly express my feelings.
Ya kalo penyanyi Inggris bikin lagu patah hati mah tetep keren, coba kalo Wali atau Kangen Band, ngeliat personilnya aja udah patah hati duluan. Bayangin saat ini yang namanya galau kayak udah jadi trend, even a telecommunication company made a campaign out of the ‘Galau’ word, which i found very horrible. People expressed their galau feelings openly in social media, and also in the phone status updates.
Gue inget jaman dulu gue deket sama suami, ada periode dimana waktu kita belum pacaran gue sebel banget sama dia karena deket sama banyak cewek (ceritanya gak mau saingan bok…). Gue bilang langsung ke dia bahwa gue gak mau ngikutin dia di social media, because it’s bothering me a lot. In short i dumped him even before we were a couple (only to have him stubbornly pursued me many months later…). Ahh jadi curcol kan. Nah pada periode itu gue menyadari bahwa social media membuat gue jadi susah move on, your fingers itching to click that familiar name on your timeline dimana seringnya penasaran yang kayak gini yang bikin hati makin jeblos ke jurang.
Jadi intinya kalau mau get over a heartbreak (di masa ini…) jangan sering-sering ngeliatin social media.
Karena pertanyaan seperti ‘What are you thinking’ cuma kita dan Tuhan yang tau jawabannya, tanpa mengundang ke-kepoan ratusan followers lainnya.
Once a heartbreaker,

Best Beauty Products of 2012

Last year i made a list of Best Album 2011, somewhere along this year i changed. Though actually i’ve been  obsessed with beauty products since i was a teen. Now that i’m a woman, i think that obession is getting more serious.

Anyway, here are the list of beauty products that i love in 2012. Some of them became my Holy Grail (HG), some of them are new products launched on this year, some of them are already known for its magic for years, and one of them is limited edition. Curious? Scroll down.

Face Category

Best Moisturizer : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion . I have reviewed the product here. Price IDR 24.000

Best Face Primer : Smashbox Photo Finish Light Primer. It holds all the gross oil on my face and my make up lasts longer with it!. Read it here.

Best Concealer : The Balm Liquid TimeBalm Spot Concealer  (my shade is Honey). Rated 4.6 out of 5 by makeupalley.com members, it has tea tree oil so this concealer is zit zapping while covering your spots. Pertama kali diceritain kalau concealer ini bagus sama salah satu temen kerja, dia bilang pas dipake bikin jerawatnya kempes. Baunya memang kurang enak sih karena kandungan tea tree oil-nya itu, tapi percayalah wahai wanita berjerawat yang butuh concealer, this product rocks!. Price: IDR 275.000

Best BB Cream : Skin79 HotPink. Maybelline made my face greasy 2 hours after wearing it, while Missha is buildable but within 4 hours i still need to blot. Skin79 HotPink is very good for you with oily skin, while Missha is good for dry to normal skin. Price: IDR 160.000

Best Foundation : Revlon Colorstay 24Hr Whipped Cream Foundation (my shade is Medium Beige).  I superrrrrr love this foundation!. Coverage is medium, and you can use this as concealer too. I use my fingers to blend this, i put several dots on my face then i blend it in with my index & middle fingers with tapping motion. I don’t drag, i tapped the foundation into my face so it settled on my skin. If you drag or somehow you use the wrong brush, it will look cakey. Also the longer you wear it, the more perfect it looks, like you have a super flawless skin. Finishing is dewy on my face, and somehow i don’t see any shine hours after i wear this. I recommend this for oily gals who needs medium coverage, for dry skin people it might accentuate dry patch so maybe dry skin girls wold hate this. But there are few this things that i don’t like about this product: 1. The smell, it reminds me of minyak angin, but goes off upon wearing; 2. The jar, it’s heavy and i guarantee you will never need to touch up with this foundation so better leave the heavy jar at home. Price: IDR 150.000

Revlon Colorstay 24hr Whipped Creme Foundation

Revlon Colorstay 24hr Whipped Creme Foundation

Best Setting Powder : Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder Quartet Air Sensation (my shade is Delicate Beige). As you might know i have a super oily face, so a finely milled powder is my best friend. One day i was searching on makeupalley for the best setting powder, and Givenchy Prisme Libre is one of the top rated (4.6 out of 5). So when my best friend went to Singapore i asked her to bring me one (my shade was sold out in Jakarta, plus it’s cheaper in Singapore). It’s expensive, of course because it’s Givenchy, but i don’t mind the price because i get a lot powder. I have this since October and it doesn’t seem to move a bit though i use it everyday, this will last more than 9 months so i think with quality and how much product you get it’s kinda cheap. Finishing is translucent on me, leaving my skin matte throughout the day. I set my foundation with this at 8.00 am and i need to blot just once with very minimal oil seen on the blotting film. And another thing that i love is the scent. Oh anyway my best friend ended up buying it because of my constant praise and she loved it too!. Price: SGD 65

Best Liquid Eyeliner : Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner (my shade is Blackest Black). I love the texture, quick dry and easy to wipe out if you fail to create a flawless line, it’s waterproof and sweatproof but not smudgeproof. One thing that i hate is the applicator, the wand tip is quite big for my small eyes and it’s simply hard to make a fine thin line. If you like old Hollywood with winged line, try this. Price : IDR 40.000

Best Pencil Eyeliner : Tony Moly Waterproof Prefect Eyes Pencil Eyeliner  (i have Black and Silver). Glides on really smooth with intense color. I tend to hate pencil eyeliner before because no matter what brand it will always smudge on my oily skin (MUFE Aqua Eyes is failed to impress) and leaving Panda Eyes on my waterline. The texture is creamy and color payoff is excellent. I love to tightline my eyes with this, and i use the silver color for my inner rim to make my eyes appear brighter. Price : IDR 110.000

Best Waterproof Eyeshadow : L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow. Currently not available in Indonesia. But this is my best eyeshadow because for a relatively cheap price you get a small jar of waterproof and smudgeproof eyeshadow with intense color, very pigmented, and blendable. It really is Infallible because it stays put on my oily lids for long hours even without primer. Price : SGD 14.50

Best Blush : The Balm Hot Mama Blush. This shimmery peachy pink blush is said to be the closest dupe for Nars Orgasm, rated 4.5 out of 5 on Makeupalley. I have a weak spot for peach/coral blush so this one won my heart instantly. I use this on top of my coral blush from Maybelline. Very very veryyy pigmented, so make sure you use a light hand with this one.  And good thing is you can also use this as eyeshadow, i’ve tried and been loving it.This blush is perfect if you want a shimmery pink color on your cheek. Nars Orgasm is more orange, this one is pinker.  Packaging is really cute, and i suggest this blush for you who have been eyeing Nars Orgasm but still not sure, price is way cheaper than Nars. Price : IDR 225.000.

The Balm Hot Mama Blush

The Balm Hot Mama Blush

Best Contour Blush : Chanel Ombre Contraste in Notorious, Sculpting Veil for Eyes and Cheek. This is a limited edition blush first seen on Chanel runway show and released as part of Chanel Contrastes Essentiels Collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. This greyish-taupe blush made some beauty blogger across the globe singing praises on it’s magic. I ordered this blush via an online shop which sold lots of authentic Chanel products, the owner kindly searched this product and found the last one for me, thank God!. I use this to contour my cheek, and jawline. I barely know how to contour, yet i tried this product like a master of contour. I love how the greyish shade manage to create an illusion of perfect cheek for me. I have people commenting that i lose weight, which i’m not. It’s only because of the blush, and a little goes a long way. It’s pretty expensive but i believe it will last me 3 years simply because it’s very pigmented and i only need a very light tap, if i use this too much i risk looking like a zombie. Bener-bener bikin pipi dan dagu terlihat tirus asal tau teknik contour yang tepat untuk tipe wajah, i’m still learning and everyday i’m amazed of this blush. It’s perfect for contour freak gals or Chanel-devoted girls. Just like any other Chanel blush, this one comes with a luxurious pouch.

Best Lipstick : Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (i have Sweet Tart, Berry Smoothie, and Cherry Tart). I like the buttery soft formula, and it didn’t dry my lips, also comes with pretty colors. I think this lipstick is essential and every women should have at least one color of this Lipstick. The lipstick is doing such an excellent job to keep my lips moisturize without making it dull or too shiny, the color is sheer and pretty which is a plus. If you haven’t try this, boy you missing out a lot!. It’s relatively cheap, so i bought one and like the other girls around the globe i’m craving for more. Price : IDR 75.000

Revlon Lip Butter

Revlon Lip Butter

Best Lipstick for Spring/Summer : Nars Schiap. Inspired by Elsa Schiapparelli’s shocking pink book, this lipstick is definitely a bomb. You will have eyes turning because of its shocking color. If you like bold color you just need to own this one for your collection. The color is bright fuschia, almost shocking purple-pink on my lips. I bought this while on vacation in Bangkok for 900 baht on Nars counter in Siam Paragon. Love the edgy packaging of Nars.

Nars Schiap

Nars Schiap

Best Lipstick for Autmn/Winter : L’Oreal Color Riche Intense in Intense Plum. Ever since Lana Del Rey sporting dark vampire lips on a gala this year, the vampy shade has been every daring-girl favorite lipstick. The texture of L’Oreal Color Riche lips is very rich and pigmented, it glides smooth on my lips and feels luxurious. The more you build the color the darker it looks. I recommend this for girls who wanted to try vampy lips trend. Daripada beli MAC atau Nars tapi jarang dipake, beli yang ini aja and see how you like the shade. Price : IDR 115.000. See me wearing it here.

Best Website on Makeup review : http://makeupalley.com. I always refer myself to the site whenever i’m curious about a product. The reviews are helpful because it shows the hair/skin/eyes type of the reviewer, so you can relate a lot to yourself. Like if you have dry skin, you can read all the reviews form dry skin people. It contains thousands of products, and what i love is we get to rate the product with a lippie and the highest score is 5 lippie. Biasanya kalau saya mau beli produk saya pasti liat dulu ratingnya di Makeupalley. Misalkan reviewnya 4.6 out of 5 from 564 reviews artinya produk itu efektif dan bagus karena banyak sekali yang kasih rate tinggi, beda kalau nilainya 4.6 out of 5 from 7 reviews kan gak valid lah ya karena cuma 7 review itu menurut saya kurang membantu mengingat beberapa produk kadang hanya cocok untuk kaukasia atau hanya cocok untuk asian skin, etc.

Best New Brand in Indonesia  Market : The Balm. If you have time, sempatkanlah untuk menengok counter mereka di Seibu Grand Indonesia atau di Glow Plaza Indonesia. Their products is simply divine, color payoff is fantastic, each product is highly pigmented, the price is not sky-high expensive, but most of all their products is very wearable+durable with cute packaging. It’s my highly recommended brand.

I’d love to know your best beauty products too, leave a comment down below!

Max Factor Haul and Review

A couple months ago i went to Max Factor booth on Plasa Semanggi along with my best friend Rinda who is also a beauty enthusiast. We share the same addiction and powerless when it comes to make up. Max Factor is one of our favorite brand ever since we tried their Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation. We love how it blends like a dream and how it made our face look flawless. Trurthfully until now i never found such a great foundation like it. So, as predictable we had our haul. Let’s check out what i bought and my honest opinion abot ‘em :

Image

Max Factor Haul

1. Master Touch Under Eye Concealer in Fair

This concealer is for under eyes only, because i have tried it to conceal my acne and it didn’t blend well. But yeah it is great for my under eye, i use this for my daily make up routine. It does conceal my dark circle quite good, but it doesn’t brighten my under eye either. Anyway i think you need to be patient upon the first use, because the packaging is more like a pen, you need to twist the bottom of it to extract the product. I twist it like more than 20x until it comes out, and by the time it comes out it was spilling more products which is a waste. But the good thing is the clear packaging will show you how much product left. Would i repurchase? No. I’d find another concealer.

2. Max Effect Gloss Cube in No.05 & No.11

This is by far the worst lipgloss i’ve ever come across. I bought the Plum shade (No.11) because i want a bolder color, the color turns out the same as my lips. It didn’t show any plum shade, nor that it did any dramatic color shown on my lips. And the gloss is not really shiny, it fade easily. The shine is gone within 2 hours, it was terrible. No.05 didn’t do any justice, the plum shade shows a little color and this one doesn’t have a color at all i think. I was really like i wear clear gloss with bad staying power. Good thing about it is that it smells wonderful, like berry smell. Would i repurchase? A thousand times no.

3. Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint in No.04

My bestfriend and i was really excited with the Lip Tint, we love that it looks like Cover Girl Lip Tint (my bestfriend Rinda is a devoted Cover Girl user). I too was very curious to try. Needless to say it was worse than the gloss. Staying power is horrible, and it dries easily. I only got to wear it for a week then it was gone, the product dried. I don’t know how it dries that quick, because i made sure i put the cap very tightly and i store it on my make up bag far away from heat. Then i read at makeupalley.com and find that there are a lot of girls complaining the same thing. Good thing about it is that it didn’t taste weird and chemical. Would i repurchase? Definitely no.

I bought these following products on different time, and here’s my thought :

4. Lasting Performance Foundation in Soft Beige

It does last long with matte finish, but it dries on yor face really quick. So you need to work it fast. The Miracle Touch Illusion Foundation is different than this, Miracle Touch gives me a dewy finish while this one gives me a matte finish. I like this but i still prefer the Miracle Touch. If you have oily skin definitely this one works best, but if you want dewy finish and doesn’t mind to blot after 3 hours try the Miracle Touch. Would i repurchase? I prefer the Miracle Touch.

Image

5. Master Piece Color Precision Eyeshadow in Golden Green

This can serve as your base eyeshadow, team it with a darker eyeshadow and you’ll have intense color. I’ve tried this with grey and chocolate eyeshadow and it was wonderful. The beauty adviser told me that this one is more vivid than the others, so i picked out this color. But i suggest to wear eyeshadow primer first, it was tend to streak if you’re not locking it with primer.  Would i repurchase? Yes, i think it’s great. I tried to take a picture of this product but the lighting on my house is really bad and it didn’t catch the color even with flash.

Here are the swatches of Master Touch Concealer, Lipgloss Cube in No.11 and No.05, Lipfinity Lip Tint in No. 04, and Lasting Performance in Soft Beige with and without flash. Sorry for the bad lighting!

That’s my honest opinion about my haul, i believe there are a lot more good products on their range. But i honestly think Max Factor products that works well for me are their foundation and mascara (i use the False Lash Effect mascara). Miracle Touch is my favorite but i haven’t repurchase because i’m still using my BB Cream and the Lasting Performance, i will definitely repurchase sometime soon. If you have any thought on Max Factor product feel free to leave comments.

Last August 2012 – yeah once again I know its super late 😛 , I went to Singapore to see Passion Pit Concert with my best friend , Kat.

Both of us is a huge fan of Passion Pit , esp. Kat , she is crazy about this band..
I personally like this band because its different, they are smart in terms of choosing a lyrics and also able to bring different nuance for their song.

I am in love with this band, when I was listening to SleepyHead, geezz this song its so unique esp the intro, it will trigger you to listen more and easy to be remembered. Passion Pit itself is an American ElectroPop band from Cambridge, Massachussets. The lead of this band is Michael Angelakos, most of member of this band went to Berklee College of Music in Boston except Michael.

Stippling Brush & How To Deep Clean Your Brush

It’s a flat top brush but the hair is short with visible white lines along the hair.

Image

HD Foundation Brush by Masami Shouko

Image

Stippling Brush

Sebaiknya kuas dibersihkan setiap hari, tapi kadang kalau saya tidak sempat maksimal 3 hari sekali saya pasti menyempatkan membersihkan kuas-kuas terutama kuas foundation saya. Langkah-langkah diatas hanya memakan waktu sekitar 5 menit/kuas jadi harusnya gak menyita waktu lama.

Selamat Mencoba!.

Beauty Buzz : Hada Labo

Hada Labo has been the talk of the town, it is the star of many beauty forums with women across the globe raving about its magic. It was hard to find Hada Labo here in Indonesia, some women took the effort to buy it from Singapore or asked their  friends /relatives to brought the product to Indonesia.  I was never that curious, until i was scanning through the racks on a drugstore and found the bestselling lotion sitting prettily as if it’s calling me to try it on.

Saya baru tau kalau Hada Labo sudah diproduksi di Indonesia, makanya harga yang dijual cukup murah (IDR 28.000 or USD 2.8 for a bottle of the famous moisturizing lotion). I remember thinking that it wouldn’t be a big deal if i don’t like the product at the end, the price is relatively cheap. So i adopt one bottle to my house, praying that it would work wonder for my oily skin. I was too curious i immidiately wash my face with my Natasha prescription facial wash and slather the magic lotion to my face.

I LOVE IT. My skin is combination and can be very oily at times when i move around a lot so i  hate using a moisturizer but this lotion is different. It makes my skin supple and fresh, without any funny tingling sensation. I just need 4 drops of the lotion and then softly patted my face.  It was sticky at first but i’ve learned the right trick so it doesn’t feel sticky. After you slather the lotion all over your face, quickly pat your face using both left and right four fingers in circular motion, don’t do it soft and slow it will turn out sticky, do it quick with gentle pat on your face. It’s close to slapping your face only you don’t do it hard, do it quick.

I made my second purchase of Hada Labo the same day i bought my first one. I know i like the product because that day i can’t wait to wash my face and put the lotion again. So that night i asked my boyfriend to drove to the nearest grocery store and bought the Moisturizing Facial wash, 2nd bottle of the lotion, and a Whitening Essence from their whitening series.

Facial Wash, 2 Lotions (1 to use at home, 1 to carry around in my make up bag), and Arbutin Whitening Essence.

It has been 3 weeks since i used Hada Labo range, i never use my prescription of Natasha lotions and creams ever since. I stick on using the facial wash everytime i shower, then i use the lotion, and at night i use the whitening essence before bed. I notice that it does some wonderful improvement on my face. I rarely break out, my face feels supple, and the dark spots/acne marks are slightly gone. I’m not kidding, i too very amused with the result.

Okay, so i will do a short explanation with the products i currently use and its wonders to my skin :

  1. Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Facial Wash, it’s just like any other facial wash. But i never foamed this, i take like 3-4cm of the soap and applied it straight to my face. I think that it’s the average facial wash, yet this product helped my next step.
  2. Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion, and by lotion it means watery essence more like a toner. You only need like 4 to 5 drops of this water, don’t go overboard. Slather evenly to your face and quickly pat it to your face in a gentle circular motion with your both hands. Leave it like 1-2 minutes for the lotion to absorb onto your skin before you move on to another daily routines like sunblock or essence. I even use this before i put on my make up. Jadi sebelum make up saya pake lotion ini dulu lalu baru mulai make up. Hasilnya lumayan menahan minyak di muka!
  3. Arbutin Whitening Essence, this highly concentrate essence is my weapon to fight acne marks and dark spots. I seriously rave this essence. On daily basis i use it after the lotion if i plan to hide from Mr.Sun, but if i’m sure i’m going to meet him i skip this and use my trusted Biore Sunblock (which contains Hyaluronic Acid too like Hada Labo, so it sits adjacent) instead. I only use the essence at night, after i wash my face and put on the lotion. I use 1 pump and spread evenly to my face BUT AFTER THAT i pumped a little more essence ONLY to put it on my acne marks/dark spots or some area that i need to brighten up. It also contains high dose of Vitamin C that i assume very important for my skin regeneration. Yay!. Oh the essence is quite pricey around IDR 130.000 or USD 13.

So now i understand why the lotion sold every 4 seconds in Japan, it really does wonders. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and improve your complexion only by a few drops. I like their tagline “one drop locks up the ocean” because it’s true. And hey, after i religiously use this i never see any dry patch everytime i put on my make up!.

My tips if you’re curious to try: buy the lotion first and see for yourself. If you like it then you can proceed to buy another product from the range, but if you are hesitated or not liking it at all just stop it immediately. Also, the wonders doesn’t happen overnight, you need to be patient. I wrote the review after 3 weeks using the products, so i can be really sure that i see improvements and that i don’t lie. Though i can assure that i didn’t see any dry patch on my make up since my first trial on the lotion.

I’m sure i won’t be using my Natasha prescription again. So i hope you find my review helpful, and don’t hesitate to ask!.

Love,

Back with a (Beauty) Bang!

Hello loves!

It’s been awhile since my last post. I’ve been busy yada yada yada, i know. But now i finally have time! Yess!. Quick recap of what’s been going, went to Morrissey concert (oh wow time flies), went to Singapore for Passion Pit concert, went to Architecture in Helsinki concert, and umm a lot of things going on. Anyway, right now i won’t be doing my concert review thingy cos it was overdue, too late isn’t it?. I want to tell you few of my favorite things (right now), and it’s about beauty products.

I’ve been a beauty junkie since forever, I just never posted my addiction here. So i decided to share you some of the beauty products i rave. Not only because of their ability to transform my oily-ugly-duck-face into a swan, but because i want to let you know (esp the oily face ladies) that these products can help you (or so i thought).

So, shall we start ladies?

Face

Yes, i have a super oily face. I put on my make up at 8.30 and by 12.00 i have an oil refinery in my face. So desperate that i’ve tried lots and lots of oil free make up range/skincare and nothing ever solved my problem. Until i clicked on the most helpful site for beauty junkies around the globe (no not Sephora), *drumrolls* http://makeupalley.com. I signed up and searched the product with most reviews, then Smashbox Photo Light Primer came up. Thousands of girls loves the product and it has glowing reviews from oily-faced buddies. I remember thinking that “OH I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE!!”. So i bought one on my trip to Sephora Singapore. I was torn between Smashbox and Laura Mercier (which received glowing reviews as well) and the beauty advisor asked me what do i need the most, “i need something to mattify my oily face”, then she pointed at Smashbox and said “well you’ll need that”. So i purchased the not-so-cheap primer and tried it immediately. I love it. It really mattify my face, by 12.00 i don’t need to blot my face, nor do i need to redo my make up by 15.00 (well just a quick touch up). It really is awesome,  my make up stays really well throughout the day (and night). I just need to prep my face with the product before i put on my make up, it instantly smoothen my skin and doing a great job to mattify it. Really girls, if you have oily face this is your answer. But if you have sensitive skin you might need to consult with the beauty advisor before purchasing this. Oily face be gone! Shooh!

Smashbox Photo Finish Light (SGD 60)

If there is any brand that I like, I think Maybelline is the answer. It’s affordable and versatile, I have never had a problem using the brand. I currently use the Clear Smooth powder and I love it because it glides really smooth on my skin. And since I use Smashbox primer, the powder sits perfectly still. I carry around the little pink refill one for touch ups and guess the price? Only 19.000 idr. Great job!.

Maybelinne Clear Smooth Foundation (IDR 19.000)

Eyes

You think my problem is just my oily face? No no you are wrong girls. I too have greasy lids, my eyeshadow tend to crease and that’s why i hate putting on eyeshadow because that’s no use for me. I followed Urban Decay account on Instagram, but i’ve never used any of their products. However i like the packaging and how edgy their products are. I’ve seen my friend used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion but i thought that it was too much work for putting on a face. Out of curiosity i purchased the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion because many girls in makeupalley.com swears by it. I too ended up loving it!. My eyeshadow stays still throughout the day and non greasy! It took my breath away when one day i went to my friend’s outdoor wedding on one humid night and it was sweatproof (or bulletproof) plus my eyes were smoldering without icky oily lids in sight. I’m in love babes, now i’m obsessed on searching the perfect eyeshadow because i want to marry my Urban Decay eyeshadow primer with the perfect one.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (around SGD 45)

But i already found one! and it’s L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow. Infallible, oh how i love the word. It means ‘Perfect’, and i agree because it is. The eyeshadow has very rich pigments, just only one swipe (or dab it with your finger/brush) the color instantly shows. The thing is i’m a sucker for ‘waterproof’ ‘sweatproof’ ‘long wear’ or ’24-hour stays’ words on a beauty product. As it promised the eyeshadow really stays on beautifully kickin’ off the sweat and oily lids. And it was a match made from heaven when you paired the eyeshadow with Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. The color pops and it stays on forever. Bravo!

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow (SGD 14.50)

Have I told you that on my last trip my bestfriend Rinda bought K-Pallete 24hour tattoo eyeliner for her colleague. Right when I saw her bought that, I immediately purchased one. Yeah you probably know why, the ’24hour tattoo’ just had me at hello. I can’t say that I love it, simply because I’m not a pro when it comes to drawing eyeliner, usually I had the right eye better than the other. So when I smudged a little, It was so hard to rubbed off. I need to be really careful when applying this. But for you who (like me) has oily lids and love a dramatic long lasting eyeliner, this one will win your heart over and over again.

K-Palette 24hr Tattoo Eyeliner (SGD 19)

What about mascara? What about it? So far I’m a true believer in Maybelline mascara range. They’re affordable and curls my lashes for hours beautifully. My favorite feature is my lashes because of its natural curl that I never bent over backwards just to curl it. So for me any mascaras are acceptable as long as it’s waterproof. Right now I have Max Factor False Lash Effect on my make up bag.

Lips

I love lip gloss, I can’t get enough of it. But sometimes the wrong brand can give that flaky lips effect upon using, and I hate hate that. I rarely put on lipstick/gloss cos I tend to lick it everytime, strangely I have various shades of glosses and types of lipstick. Anyhow I hate lip stain even more. Why? Simply because I tend to licked my lips and lip stain tasted bizzare. I’ve tried The Body Shop lip stain, The Face Shop lip stain, even Benefit Benetint and none of it worked on my dry parched lips. I read somewhere that Yves Saint Laurent launched its newest beauty product Rouge pur Couture gloss stain. It’s a hybrid between lip gloss and lip stain, and baby I’m intrigued. So I walked to YSL beauty counter one day and swatched few colors until I found that the shade Corail Aquatique (No.7) compliment my lips. I had friends telling me that they love the color on my lips, the pretty coral sheen suits my medium skin tone and I didn’t even ask them, they came up to me and genuinely praise it. This must be the first luxury make up I’ve ever bought and truthfully this is worth my money. First it doesn’t smell and taste like spunky acid, it glides on smoothly and the curved applicator is easy to use, secondly it stays on soo sooo looong if I don’t eat. I just need two coats and the color stays for hours and I only need one swipe after a big meal. Thirdly and what i love the most that it’s really moisturize my lips and the texture is really smooth it doesn’t feel heavy like any other glosses. The best gloss stain ever because of the glamorous color and pretty sheen. This is the solution for girls who hate wearing lipstick and feels that lip gloss is heavy or for a super busy girls that doesn’t have time for touch ups. I just can’t wait to try the other shade Corail Fauve (No.12).

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain in Corail Aquatique No.7 (IDR 320.000)

Blush

I know that Coral shade compliments my skin. So I always choose coral hue whether it’s for make up or even my clothes. When it comes to blush I like apricot color and all coral shade. Maybelline has the prettiest shade of apricot. The color is quite strong so I just need one swipe and I’m perfectly flushed. I don’t fancy a blush that needs a lot of work to bring out the color. Right now I’m curious with Nars Orgasm, and so many women I know told me they didn’t like it and that it’s average they didn’t see why it is such a rave. Well for one its pinkish coral hue with glitters supposed to make you look ‘glowing from within’, and the fact that thousands of women loved it. You read it, ‘coral’ and yes that word makes me curious. Yes! I’m coming!.

Maybelline Blush in Fresh Apricot (around IDR 59.000).

So ladies those are some of beauty products that i rave. As you can see i’m not a brand minded person, i only love product that compliments my skin (not causing any redness), fuss free, and more importantly wearable on my oily skin. Money is a problem, but i don’t mind if the product is worth my hard earn pennies (i still think that YSL gloss stain is magical). I think that a little bit of make up goes a long way, it freshen up your face and it can emphasize your best feature. Not too much but not barely there. Afterall the most important thing is your skin regime. Wash your face with oil-free (or a gentle) face wash, use make up remover to remove all the waterproof products or excess make up (baby oil can do this too), and don’t forget to scrub your face regularly (i love Himalayan Herbals Apricot Scrub fyi). I hope you girls who has oily face like me can find these info helpful, and i would love to hear from you make up/beauty products that you rave!. Stay gorgeous loves!

say hello to Elmo!

The Horrors // Dago Tea House 14 February 2012

“Holy fuck”.

Foster The People // Tennis Indoor Senayan 11January 2012

I know people i knoooooowwww..

Ini basinya luar biasa deh, ahhahaaha. Sedikit pengakuan dosa aja sih, gue akhir-akhir ini malesss banget update blog. Padahal gak baik yaa, nanti hits-nya ga nambah-nambah.

Saking malesnya, banyak tulisan yang harus gue buat on time jadi malah basi. So anyway, gue mau cerita tentang Foster The People ini. Akhir bulan Mei tahun lalu gue diperdengarkan Pumped Up Kicks setelah selesai nonton konser The Drums. The People’s Party tanggal 13 Januari. Sampai akhirnya dikasih gratis sama pacar! Yay!

Stevie G Hotel Bandung

It’s been a while since last time i went to Bandung, nah kunjungan ke Bandung kali ini bertepatan dengan hari yang cukup sakral bagi banyak orang terutama cewe-cewe, tapi kalo gue sih biasa aja. Yes, Valentine’s Day. 14 Februari. Salah satu band favorit gue THE HORRORS manggung di Bandung. Entah kenapa hari-nya bertepatan sama Valentine hahahaha.

Selain This is Anfield dan Sweet Escape, mereka punya room Alice in Lost, Rising Sun, Gelateria, The Street, Hexagon, The Author, English Rose, Seville Row, What is Pop Art, Saturday Retro Fever, dan lain-lain.

Take a peek..

Welcome to Stevie G Hotel!

Our room!

Tapi gak masalah sih, we enjoyed our stay very much we decide to come back for more!. Well, hopefully next time. Sebelnya sih entah kenapa gue sering banget kepentok sama tempat tidurnya. Gotta be careful next time.

So if you’re interested, coba langsung book ke Stevie G Hotel atau kalo mau liat sisa kamar yang lain ke Stevie G Hotel Facebook. You’ll never sleep alone!.

Happy Valentine,

Kattleya Ayu Anandita
